The market has begun to rebound and homes are flying off the market at an incredible rate. As stated in a previous blog, there is high buyer demand and low seller supply, so not only are homes selling quickly, but they are also going for higher prices. These are ideal conditions for anyone trying to sell their property. This might entice potential sellers to attempt to sell their own home without the help of a real estate agent. With little to no in-depth knowledge of the real estate profession, being a “for sale by owner” could be more than a little tricky.
A real estate professional has been trained in the art of negotiation. This essential part of their job is based largely on the fact that they have to navigate through many different facets of the sale with many different people in order to bring their clients the best possible deal. Throughout the sale of your home there are, on average, ten different companies/people that you are going to have to deal with. Not only is the sheer volume of negotiation you are going to have to go through intimidating, some of these people are a great more interested in the buyer’s interests than in yours. This only serves to restate the fact that it is critical to be well versed in handling negotiations.
In addition to the face to face dealings, there are around 60 different documents that must be created, filled out, and completed with precise detail in order for the sale to close. Real estate agents understand these documents, know the verbiage, and have at least one other pair of eyes looking through each document to validate correctness.
The people and the paperwork are just a base for the services that an agent should provide. A good real estate agent puts in hours upon hours of work dedicated solely to the sale of your property. They will fight for you to make sure that you are satisfied with all aspects of the sale. If these tasks of selling your home are manageable for you, I wish you all the luck and hope that you find a great sale for your property. But, if you do decide that you would rather put the burden and work into someone else’s hands, I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak to you about becoming your real estate agent. I know what it takes to sell a home and I will work hard to get you the best deal possible!
